Philippians 4:4-9
Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice!
Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near.
Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.
And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble,…

Trust God in everything and for everything. Others may seem to have the answers, but don't know what needs to be known to provide. God's resources are limitless. Don't be limited by your faith. Have faith in God. He will direct your steps and ordain your thoughts for a new and better way. Trust Him.
"Put your trust in the Lord."(Ps.4:5)

God gives eternal choices, and these choices have eternal consequences.
Isn’t this the reminder of Calvary’s trio? Ever wonder why there were two crosses next to Christ? Why not six or ten? Ever wonder why Jesus was in the center? Could it be the two crosses on the hill symbolize one of God’s greatest gifts? The gift of choice. The two criminals were convicted by the same system. Condemned to death. Equally close to the same Jesus. But one changed and one did not.
You’ve…

Faith can say to society, self, Satan and sin, “Anything you can give, Christ can give better” (Ephesians 2:1-8).

Never, never, never renounce the habit of prayer or your confidence in its power. "Jesus told his disciples a parable about their need to pray all the time and never give up." (Luke 18:1)

Your most profound and intimate experiences of worship will likely be in your darkest days -- when your heart is broken, when you feel abandoned, when you’re out of options, when the pain is great, and you turn to God alone. It is during suffering that we learn to pray our most authentic, heart-felt, honest-to-God prayers. When in pain, we don’t have the energy for superficial prayers.
"I am in deep trouble Lord! Rush to my aid, for only you can help and save me."
Psalm 70:5 (LB)…

When you pray, expect to hear from God. I can’t say it any simpler than that.
Expect that God will answer your prayer. This is where faith comes in. You wait expectantly on God.
Waiting on God is never a waste of time. In fact, it is time well invested in your life. It keeps you focused on God and living in light of eternity.
Hurry is the death of prayer. One reason you may not hear God speak to you is that you don't wait long enough. He wants you to care enough…

You may have hit bottom financially and thought, “I am going broke!” Or, maybe you’ve hit bottom emotionally, or your marriage has hit bottom, or you’re having health problems. You’re frustrated and can't help but think, “I’m going under.”
Where is God when you hit bottom? He’s right there underneath you. He is “your refuge, and his everlasting arms are under you” (Deut.33:27)
Drop into his arms of love. Let him catch you and support you when you have nowhere else to go.…

Praise God before you are delivered. Praise Him for what is coming. Adore Him for what He is going to do. I do not think there is a sweeter song in God's ear than the song of one who blesses Him for grace that has not yet been tasted, who blesses Him for answers that have not been received but are sure to come. "Though...the fields yield no food...yet I will rejoice in the Lord."(Hab.3:17-18) Charles H. Spurgeon

A Christmas Prayer
from Max Lucado
Dear Jesus,
It’s a good thing you were born at night. This world sure seems dark. I have a good eye for silver linings. But they seem dimmer lately.
These killings, Lord. These children, Lord. Innocence violated. Raw evil demonstrated.
The whole world seems on edge. Trigger-happy. Ticked off. We hear threats of chemical weapons and nuclear bombs. Are we one button-push away from…

There’s something in you that God loves! Not just appreciates or approves—but loves. You cause God’s eyes to widen, his heart to beat faster. He loves you and accepts you.
Don’t we yearn to know this? God, do you know who I am? In the great scheme of things do I count for anything? So many messages tell us we don’t. We get laid off at work, turned away by the school. Everything from acne to Alzheimer’s leaves us feeling like the girl with no date to the prom. We react. We validate…

Does your affliction seem more real than God? Does the black sorrow that covers you eclipse all the light of heaven and earth? Remember...He has said,
"When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow you. When you walk through the fire, you shall not be burned, nor shall the flame scorch you" (Isa. 43:2).
Depend on it; He will sustain you...Be of good courage. The Lord will strengthen your heart.
(Charles H. Spurgeon)

Don't dwell on the prayers you've prayed that seemingly haven't been answered. Dwell on those you have seen answered. Don't dwell on things that God hasn't given you. Instead, thank Him for all He has given you.
"...Be ye thankful."((Col.3:15)
