Keep Asking

"Keep on asking, and you will be given what you ask for. Keep on looking, and you will find. Keep on knocking, and the door will be opened."(Matt.7:7)

God answers the diligent seeker, not the casual inquirer. (Joy Dawson)

They Will Rise Again

"...The time is coming when all the dead in their graves will hear the voice of God's Son, and they will rise again." (John 5:28)

One day Jesus will call my name
As days go by 'hope I don't the same.
I wanna get so close to Him there's no big change
On that day that Jesus calls my name! (Phil McHugh)

The Bible In You

It doesn't matter how many times you've read the Bible through. What matters most is how much of the Bible has gotten in you. (Ken Whitten)
"For the word of God is alive and powerful. It is sharper than the sharpest two-edged sword, cutting between soul and spirit, between joint and marrow. It exposes our innermost thoughts and desires."(Heb. 4:12)

Thank God For His Faithfulness

I was blessed to be able to sing and speak today at the senior's conference at Westwood Baptist Church in Live Oak, Florida. Ken Whitten, pastor at Idlewild Baptist Church in Tampa, Florida did the preaching and was such a blessing!! I needed to hear his messages of encouragement. I also loved the senior adult conference choir! Thankful for God's goodness and mercy.
"God, who has called you to share everything with his Son, Jesus Christ our Lord, is faithful."(1 Cor.1:9)

Spring up, O well!

"Spring up, O well! Sing about it."(Num. 21:17)

Be the one that someone else can sense God's presence in, even the ones who question His love or even His existence.
Put on the garment of praise and sing for joy for what God is bringing about in your life. Have the joy down in your heart so it can spring up like a well.

Choose To Believe In God

On the wall of a concentration camp, a prisoner had carved the following words:

“I believe in the sun, even though it doesn’t shine.

I believe in love, even when it isn’t shown.

I believe in God, even when He doesn’t speak.”

What hand could have cut such a conviction? What eyes could have seen good in such horror? There’s only one answer: Eyes that chose to see the unseen.

Paul wrote in 2nd Corinthians 4:18: “We set our eyes not on what we… Continue

Trust The Promises Of God

“Trust in yourself and you are doomed to disappointment; trust in your friends, and they will die and leave you; but trust in God, and you will never be confounded in time or eternity.” (D.L. Moody)

"As for God, His way is perfect. All the Lord's promises prove true. He is a shield for all who look to Him for protection." (2 Sam.22:31)

Give Thanks To God

When tempted to complain...give thanks.
"In every thing give thanks; for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus."(1 Thess.5:18)

God's Love Is Constant

You can't outlast God's love. You can't outrun His presence. He will always be with you.

"I can never escape from your Spirit! I can never get away from your presence! If I go up to heaven, you are there; if I go down to the grave, you are there. If I ride the wings of the morning, if I dwell by the farthest oceans, even there your hand will guide me, and your strength will support me. I could ask the darkness to hide me and the light around me to become night—but even in darkness I… Continue

God Will Take Care Of You

"Do not fear, little flock, for it is your Father's good pleasure to give you the kingdom."(Luke 12:32)
Surely He who takes the trouble to give you a kingdom will not let you starve on the road to it.
"I have been young, and now am old; yet have I not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his seed begging bread." (Ps.37:25)

God Leads His Children Along

"Fear not, for I have redeemed you: I have summoned you by name; you are mine. When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze. For I am the Lord, your God..."(Isa.43:1-3)

Knowing God

They both said it very well.

"I want to know God, not my idea of God."~C.S. Lewis~

"I want to know Christ and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of sharing in his sufferings, becoming like him in his death, and so, somehow, to attain to the resurrection of the dead." (Phil. 3:10) ~Apostle Paul~

Setbacks Are Only Temporary

The pit of self pity causes you to look at your dilemma and not what God is doing in the middle of your circumstances.

Setbacks are only temporary. He is your deliverance from whatever is placed before you by the Adversary. Be thankful for what He has brought you through. Give thanks for His upcoming blessings.

"Come, let us bow down in worship, let us kneel before the Lord our Maker; for he is our God and we are the people of his pasture, the flock under his care."(Ps.95:6-7) ~Ron…

No Graves On That Bright Shore

"A time is coming when all who are in their graves will hear his voice and come out."(John 5:28-29)

Then weep not friends, we're going home
Up there we'll die no more
No coffins will be made up there
No graves on that bright shore

Suffering...

Suffering is part of the human condition, and it comes to us all. The key is how we react to it, either turning away from God in anger and bitterness or growing closer to Him in trust and confidence.

(Psalm 119:50)"My comfort in my suffering is this: Your promise preserves my life."
(1 Peter 4:19) "So then, those who suffer according to God's will should commit themselves to their faithful Creator and continue to do good."
(Billy Graham)

Cheer up, Christians!

Cheer up, Christians! ..."There's far more to life for us. We're citizens of high heaven! We're waiting the arrival of the Savior, the Master, Jesus Christ, who will transform our earthy bodies into glorious bodies like his own. He'll make us beautiful and whole with the same powerful skill by which he is putting everything as it should be, under and around him."(Phil.3:20-21) Hallelujah!!!

God's Hands

We are like Noah's dove, weary and about to drop into the surrounding waters. But Noah puts out his hand, takes her, and draws her back into the ark (Gen.8:9). The dove found a refuge that surrounded and upheld her. The hands covered her on all sides.
The hand of God sustains those who dwell in the secret place of the Most High and abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, " He is my refuge and my fortress; my God, in Him I will trust."(Ps.91:1-2) (Charles H. Spurgeon

Don't Be Discouraged

Discouragement can easily bring about defeat. Determination in HIS name replaces the discouragement the enemy tries to bury you under.

The more he heaps, the more you become helpless when you don't fully exercise the faith that is deeply embedded in you. It was given to you for such a time as this.

Let your faith rise above the doubts and discouragement. Let it soar to the forefront of your mind and your thinking. Faith pleases God. It brings a smile to His face and it lifts His… Continue

God And Your Best Interest

God makes delays and detours in your day without you knowing it is Him. He has a reason for all that He does because it is in your best interest.

He knows all things and you must learn to trust Him in all things, even if it looks like He is not involved. You are special to Him and it's during these times when you can learn more about Him and His ways.

One day you will better understand, but until then, He can make this situation work for the best.

"Commit your way to the LORD.… Continue

Be Still...

“Be still in the presence of the Lord, and wait patiently for Him to act. Don’t worry about evil people who prosper or fret about their wicked schemes.” (Ps.37:7)
