Great Praise!

If you have experienced great trials, then you have the potential for great praise. "Lord, help!" they cried in their trouble, and he saved them from their distress. He calmed the storm to a whisper and stilled the waves. What a blessing was that stillness...Let them praise the Lord for his great love and for all his wonderful deeds..."(Ps.107:28-31). NLT

Mother's Day Poem

Just for You – a Mother’s Day Poem

By Rebecca J. Huseby, 2011

In quiet moments you’ll hear her prayer

In memory, see her standing there

With shafts of sunlight in her hair

Praying – just for you

In quiet pools you’ll see her eyes

The light that age could not disguise…

God's Forgiveness

No sin at any moment is bigger than God's forgiveness at this moment. "Then he said, "Jesus, remember me when you come into your kingdom." Jesus answered him, "I tell you the truth, today you will be with me in paradise" (Luke 23:42-43). (Ron Wallace)

Do Not Worry

WORRYING does not take away tomorrow's TROUBLES; it takes away today's PEACE. "Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life?" (Luke 12:25).

Going To The Father

Believers, we are going "to the Father." Much of our new home is still unclear to us, but two things are certain. Our "Father's house" is our home. And it is in the presence of the Lord. We are travelers and not permanent residents of this world. (R.C. Gillie)

"I am going there to prepare a place for you...I will come back and take ...you to…

You Know Where I Am

Believer, if you think you've missed God, and lost your way, don't worry. Just pray, and remember...HE WILL FIND YOU! "Every moment you know where I am" (Ps. 139:3).

Sometimes we don't let people get to know us completely because we are afraid they will discover something about us that they won't like. But God already knows everything about us, even to the number of hairs on our heads (Matthew 10:30), and still…

Help, God!

Father, at times I feel like I'm finished. I'm just done and can't take anymore. You know my limits and the depth I can withstand. Help me to remember there is a final depth to this sinking process, and You are always within reach.

"With God we will gain the victory, and he will trample down our enemies" (Ps. 60:12). (Ron Wallace) (Encouraging Words in a Discouraging…

Keep Praying

God does hear our prayer, but He may not answer it at the precise time we have appointed in our own minds. Instead, He will reveal Himself to our seeking hearts, though not necessarily when and where we may expect. Therefore we have a need for perseverance and steadfast determination in our life of prayer. (Streams In The Desert)

"...And will not God bring about justice for his chosen ones, who cry out to him…

Finish The Race

You may be going through difficult times right now. You're discouraged because the situation you face seems unmanageable, unreasonable, or unfair. It may seem unbearable and inside you're saying, "God I can't take it anymore." But you can. you can stay with it longer because God is with you. He'll enable you to press on. Resist discouragement and finish the race God has set before you. (Rick Warren)

"Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith..." (Heb.…

Don't Worry

Father, I know I have more days of worry than I do of trust. There's never been a day I could've made better than the one You planned for me. Sometimes my worry cancels out a day of potential happiness when I don't trust You. Even though each day may have enough trouble of its own, I choose this day to be happy in You. Amen.

"Don't worry about tomorrow. Each day has enough trouble of its own" (Matt. 6:34). (Ron Wallace) (From his book, "Encouraging Words in a Discouraging…

The Right Kind of Help

I read this devotional today from Oswald Chambers' "My Utmost for the Highest". I found it to be very inspirational but wondered what you might think about it's content. So many today really want to preach Christianity Light and ignore the proper treatment of what we call the "Wrath of God"...and too many want to ignore the Cross and what it means altogether. In the late 1700's a great Puritan Preacher named Jonathan Edwards said this in a message he delivered entitled…
